Delphi – Arachova

Departure from Athens at 08:15 and with an intermediate stop, we arrive in Delphi, where we will visit the Archaeological Museum (individual expenses), with the ancient treasures that have been found in the area, which has been characterized by the ancient writers, as “The Omphalos land”. Accommodation at the Amalia Delphi 4* hotel and buffet lunch with unlimited drinks.

Rich buffet breakfast and visit to the maritime state of Galaxidi with its rich history. We will admire the Church of Agios Nikolaos with its wonderful and unique wood-carved iconostasis, the church of Agia Paraskevi with its sundial, the Byzantine monastery of Sotiros built in 1250 AD, the house of the great historian K. Satha, the School of Tourist Professions, the Parthenagogeio, the Herolaka, the old stone aqueduct of the 15th century and its traditional houses and buildings. Free time for a walk and coffee and via Itea we return to the hotel. Buffet meal with unlimited drinks. Afternoon of relaxation in the comforts of our hotel.

Rich buffet breakfast. Enjoy the day in the hotel’s lush gardens. . In the afternoon walk to the cosmopolitan Arachova, which dominates the slopes of Parnassos. Crowds of visitors flood the village. We will visit the Victims’ Mausoleum on Canales Hill and the corresponding Museum in the old Primary School (individual expenses). We continue to the Monastery of Osios Loukas, the most important Byzantine monument of Greece from the 11th century, located on a picturesque slope in the western foothills of Helikon. With the two large churches, the Crypt, the bell tower, the cells and the other buildings, it soon acquired a unique radiance and is considered a model for Byzantine monuments of the 11th century nationwide.
